The Hydraulic Capstan Winches are powered by an AC Power Supply, which generates the mechanical power necessary to operate a Hydro pump that drives the Hydro motor. The system is operated through a double capstan, ensuring a consistent speed. The wire rope required for either pay in or pay out to facilitate cable pulling is sourced from a rope holding drum, which maintains the entire wire rope coiled on it and supplies it to the double capstan turret as needed. An auxiliary hydro motor attached to the rope drum manages the winding and unwinding of the rope. Additionally, the unit is equipped with a wire rope guiding mechanism that assists in the proper laying of the wire rope on the drum. M. • Generally, the hydraulic vertical capstan makes up the majority of capstan sales. It suits smaller powerboats or sailboats, which can be used for anchor rodes, or auxiliary line hauling from any direction. The capstan is generally situated above the deck, and the motor and gearbox below.
• The Hydraulic Capstan Winch is ideal for horizontal handling of chain only anchor rodes. It is mounted completely above deck.
• The selection of a vertical or Hydraulic Capstan Winch is largely determined by your specific uses, deck thickness and under deck space.
